3D Printing, A Circular Reality

A NeoCon 2025 CEU

Presented as a NeoCon CEU by Darwin Hinton and Audrey Robinson, this session examined how 3D printing and circular design principles can drive the next era of sustainable workplace innovation. With the built environment responsible for 33% of global waste and 40% of CO₂ emissions, the presenters explored how modular, recyclable, and locally sourced solutions can reduce impact while enhancing flexibility. Attendees learned how digital modeling and additive manufacturing enable on-demand fabrication using compostable and upcycled materials—from PLA bioplastics to algae-based and timber-derived filaments.
