Silicon Labs
Workplace and Lab Relocation
Boston, MA | 25,000 SF
Silicon Labs’ Boston workplace reflects a long-standing partnership with IA and a growing portfolio of global environments shaped by a shared vision of innovation and culture.
As a full-floor fit-out, the space brings together workplace, social, and specialized lab environments to support the company’s work in IoT and chip design, while reinforcing a cohesive identity across locations. Inspired by Boston’s historic architecture, the design interprets local context through warm brick tones, refined materiality, and layered detailing—balancing a hospitality-forward aesthetic with high-performance functionality.
The workplace is conceived as an interconnected ecosystem that promotes clarity, choice, and well-being. Intuitive planning and clear sightlines create a sense of ease and legibility, while a diverse mix of settings—from open collaboration zones to quiet focus rooms and wellness spaces—empowers users with flexibility and choice. Social hubs, including vibrant café and break areas that serve as the heart of the office, foster connection and reinforce Silicon Labs’ people-centric culture. Throughout, consistent detailing, integrated millwork, and thoughtfully curated finishes create an environment that is both elevated and inclusive.
Access to daylight, views, and moments of respite are woven into the experience alongside a tactile palette of textures and materials. Exposed ceilings juxtaposed with softer finishes create visual depth, while sculptural lighting and biophilic elements enhance comfort and engagement. The result is a dynamic workplace that not only supports technical innovation but also nurtures community, creativity, and long-term resilience—positioning Silicon Labs’ Boston office as a benchmark for future locations.
