IA Interior Architects is excited to announce that Kevin Funkhouser, an Environmental Graphic Designer with our San Francisco office, will be presenting at Neocon this year. His presentation, “Blurred Lines: How Experiential Design Is Changing Our Understanding of Spaces” will explore how the latest innovations in architecture, interiors, and graphics are working together to create modern environments that send (and respond to) the right messages. He’ll be discussing how an experiential approach can facilitate making the right design decisions, how changes in interface design and product design affect the public’s definition of “good” design in the built environment, and much more.
Kevin has designed for healthcare, retail spaces, and office environments. Whether creating for the screen or the physical world, his motivation is to bridge the gap between people and complex systems. His experience in our industry will help shed light on the difference between designing from an experiential perspective and a traditional one. He’ll also be sharing examples of projects that use architecture, interiors, and graphics to deliver cohesive experiences.
Kevin’s presentation took place on Tuesday, June 14th at the Merchandise Mart from 4-5 pm in room 1450.
