BXP
Office Relocation
Boston, MA | 28,000 SF
BXP, the largest publicly traded developer, owner, and manager of premier workplaces in the United States, relocated its regional offices in Boston’s Prudential Tower from the 18th to 16th floor.
As a leader in innovative real estate strategies, BXP’s existing workplace was unaligned with its culture and frequent cross-team collaboration. The opportunity to design the regional office created a sophisticated, dynamic workspace that supports the regional team’s productivity and innovation.

Employees and visitors entering the new workplace are immediately immersed in the BXP Boston region culture. A community zone houses the main kitchen, learning lab, design studios, and an all-hands presentation area, anchored by a Main Street lined with columns and a wood ceiling.

The Main Street provides wayfinding through a sequence of community spaces, terminating at a lounge intended for more intimate strategic conversations and celebrations. The entire entry experience supports the region’s culture and collaboration, heightening the employee and visitor experience.

In the office full-time, BXP staff have assigned spaces for optimal cross-pollination between departmental neighborhoods. Leadership offices divide these neighborhoods into more intimate zones. Jewel box conference rooms in each corner are a standard feature, designed with glass walls to maintain openness yet provide functionality. The design also introduces "front porch" moments—small, informal gathering spaces that visually break up the work neighborhoods, providing teams an opportunity for impromptu interaction.

The new workplace integrates custom experiential design and signage— featuring subtle details that include the BXP signature "X" motif—to enhance wayfinding, reinforce brand identity and mission, and support productivity. A key feature, tracking chips on branded pegboards, allows teams to visually follow project phases. Hallway signage displays live project metrics, keeping employees engaged and informed on the status of the region’s wildly important projects.
BXP’s relocation within the Prudential Center successfully blends calibrated functionality with an innovative, jewel-box aesthetic, enhancing the user experience, reinforcing the firm’s culture, and celebrating pride of brand.
