HR Technology Company

Expansion | Atlanta, GA

This global HR technology company has set an ambitious goal as it continues to grow: create the most sustainable, inclusive, and technology enabled workplace in Atlanta. The addition of two engineering floors was an opportunity to completely reimagine how its teams work, collaborate, and connect.

A People Centered Approach to Collaboration
The design centers on a functional, human focused environment that supports meaningful interaction across the organization. Its core is a dynamic central hub that encourages spontaneous interaction, a vibrant social space where employees can gather, unwind, and engage.

Surrounding the hub, free address neighborhoods offer employees the freedom to choose work settings that fit their individual needs. Supported by smart lockers, these neighborhoods accommodate a wide range of preferences—from activity level and lighting sensitivity to noise tolerance—making the workplace especially welcoming for neurodiverse team members.

Designing With Identity and Inclusivity in Mind
Throughout the workplace, the design team crafted a cohesive narrative that reflects the company’s culture, brand identity, and positive energy. A nonhierarchical layout promotes openness and transparency, while varied work points, carefully designed sightlines, and targeted acoustic solutions create a comfortable and productive environment.

A Commitment to Sustainability & Wellness

Certified LEED Gold and WELL Gold, the project delivers measurable performance across energy, water, and occupant wellbeing. Energy use was reduced by 14% through targeted strategies, including a 25% reduction in lighting power density, daylight-responsive controls, high-efficiency equipment, and zoned HVAC systems. Water-efficient fixtures lowered indoor water use by 30%.

Material selection prioritized transparency and responsible sourcing, with 30% of materials meeting verified sustainability criteria. Indoor air quality was enhanced through filtration, testing, and low-VOC materials, while access to natural light and views supports occupant wellbeing. Thermal comfort is addressed through humidity control and individual heating and cooling options.

A New Standard for the Company’s Future
This purpose-driven expansion represents a significant step forward in the company’s workplace vision. A bold, inclusive, and future-ready environment empowers employees to work, connect, and thrive. Blending sustainability, human centric design, and organizational values, the design establishes a new benchmark for future workplaces—and earned an MSA for IA as a preferred national supplier.
