Confidential Software Company
Headquarters Campus Expansion
240,000 SF | San Jose, CA
This confidential software company’s new five-story building is a strategic investment that addresses current and future needs, enhances the company’s competitive position, and reinforces its commitment to innovation and growth.
The newly constructed building, with its two-story annex, connects to adjacent campus buildings via a roof patio.
A distinctive architectural feature, a wood element that moves horizontally, vertically, and diagonally as it frames spaces and becomes portals, begins in the inviting two-story ground-floor lobby, leading employees and visitors through the floor’s array of functions. Suggesting movement and continuing on the upper floors, the feature inspires intuitive navigation throughout the workplace. A complimentary, robust experiential design graphic overlay references civic-themed community venues, including local markets and historic Santa Clara, enhancing the communal pantry on every floor.
To support major functions, an executive briefing center, cafeteria, production studio, and auditorium that accommodates all-hands meetings are on the ground floor. Other key spaces include the garden room and the vault with a secret sliding door to the innovation center. On the second floor, the Overlook, provides a variety of lounge and meeting settings with views of the two-story lobby.
The upper-floor offices are arranged in neighborhoods with access to an array of meeting rooms and collaboration break-out spaces. Each floor has a specialty area, such as the library or the dream factory, intended to encourage movement between floors.
The executive suite is on the top floor where private offices along perimeter glass windows enjoy sweeping views of the South Bay hills. The CEO’s space includes a panic room with associated security equipment.
