Daikin's new Design Center redefines the traditional HVAC showroom by merging technical expertise with the comfort of a residential environment. The space reflects Daikin’s ethos of “Perfecting the Air We Share,” emphasizing comfort, sustainability, and wellbeing in a setting inspired by the Pacific Northwest.
The design focuses on creating a welcoming atmosphere that allows visitors to experience Daikin's advanced HVAC systems as they would function within familiar spaces like a home office, bedroom, or living room. Rather than relying on typical showroom displays, the layout encourages customers to engage directly with the products through interactive storytelling moments and thoughtfully arranged environments. Each room is designed with a distinct identity, integrating warm wood finishes, soft furnishings, and biophilic elements such as a preserved green wall, reinforcing Daikin’s environmental commitment.
The experience is enhanced with subtle yet effective digital brand elements and interactive product displays that provide insights into the technologies at work. One of the standout features of the space is an innovative Hot and Cold Experience Room, designed to showcase Daikin’s cutting-edge systems in action. In this immersive environment, visitors can feel the dramatic temperature range firsthand, from a brisk -4°F to a cozy 80°F. This interactive demonstration highlights the system’s impressive efficiency and versatility, offering a tangible understanding of its performance. Beyond showcasing products, the showroom also supports collaborative interactions with partners and contractors, blending consumer-friendly features with workplace functionality.
Throughout the project, the design team overcame challenges in organizing product flows by developing intuitive layouts and multiple planning options. The result is a dynamic environment that combines hospitality with technical precision, offering a seamless experience where customers can explore the benefits of air technologies in a context that feels personal, comfortable, and environmentally conscious.
