Flack Global Metals
New Office | 5,000 SF
Chicago, IL
Character and details are not compromised within the efficiency of the small event, trading, and broadcast space: steel construction industry influences are thoughtfully curated throughout.
To better support staff recruitment and the customer experience, Flack Global Metals, a steel construction trading firm, recently relocated to Chicago’s West Loop. Eschewing a traditional office design, the client envisioned a moody, sophisticated design aesthetic. The 5,000-square-foot workplace includes a trading and broadcast area as well as space for hosting events, town halls, and cocktail hours.
From the entry employees and visitors move into a hospitality-forward lounge. The large, flexible state-of-the-art meeting room that can accommodate industry events immerses guests, employees, and recruits in the Flack culture and ethos—and offers dynamic views overlooking Chicago’s West Loop.
A custom perforated-steel panel in a pattern radiating outwards displays the firm’s circular logo ensuring privacy and a dramatic moment at the entry. An added touch: the panels were constructed from products manufactured by one of Flack’s numerous companies.
It also serves as a backdrop for the custom broadcast desk where the firm’s owner leads large-scale meetings and town halls across the organization’s numerous companies and conducts frequent interviews with news outlets.
Character and details are not compromised within the efficiency of the small space. Industry influences are thoughtfully curated throughout, including shelves mimicking I-beams, steel portals, and construction-inspired art installations. In the conference room, totems are engraved with Flack's achievements and history.
