IKON Technologies
Renovation
Arlington, TX | 8,000 SF
IKON set out to create a standout space that would reflect its strengths in network and logistics. As an innovative technology company, it envisioned a sleek, contemporary environment with a welcoming warmth—one that would leave a lasting impression on visitors.

Driven by IKON’s commitment to connectivity, the design concept centers on linking spaces, people, and clients. The renovated third floor flows seamlessly between work zones, fostering interaction and collaboration within a vibrant, approachable setting.

Technology plays a central role, with backlit panels, elongated lighting fixtures, and a dramatic Texas-sized TV anchoring the space. Curved wood-clad walls soften the high-tech features, adding a sense of comfort. The reception area embodies this balance with a generous neighborhood lounge, complete with LED video conferencing and touchscreen TVs that reinforce a connected workplace experience—both internally and externally.

As the building’s owner, IKON was intent on countering the often-sterile aesthetic associated with tech environments. The renovation addressed this head-on, despite challenges like shifting work styles and brand integration within budget constraints. Smart, cost-conscious design choices—like wood-look luxury vinyl tile with sound-absorbing properties—delivered high-end results without overspending.

The transformation moves away from traditional private offices, offering 48 open and nine private offices that maximize natural light. Open workspaces are flanked by planters and sound-dampening materials—baffles, panels, carpeted floors, and textured wall coverings—to enhance both acoustics and visual appeal. These thoughtfully layered spaces nurture connection across all levels of the organization, encouraging dynamic exchanges fueled by color, texture, and brand-aligned finishes.
