Tecovas

New York, NY

Situated in the heart of SoHo’s Cast-Iron Historic District, Tecovas’ New York City debut marks a milestone for the brand: its 50th retail location. Housed within a landmark 1892 building at 105 Wooster Street, the project pays homage to the building’s historic fabric while introducing a refined interpretation of Tecovas’ modern Western sensibility.

The design narrative is rooted in duality: preserving architectural heritage while crafting a contemporary retail environment. Original tin coffered ceilings and exposed brick walls ground the space in its 19th-century context, while a palette of warm, earthen tones and custom millwork introduce an elevated materiality. Wood-wrapped surfaces and tonal textures contribute to a sense of immersive tactility throughout.

Conceived as a flagship experience, the store reflects Tecovas’ core principle of “radical hospitality.” A dedicated bar with mixed cocktails on tap greets guests upon entry, while bespoke fitting rooms, a customization zone for boots and hats, and curated product displays ensure a tailored, service-forward shopping journey.

Balancing Western craftsmanship with the urban edge of downtown Manhattan, the store captures a distinct synergy—one that bridges the rugged authenticity of the American West with the architectural and cultural layers of New York City.
