Williams-Sonoma’s multi-brand retail design program elevates the customer experience through flexibility, immersive brand expression, and technical precision for over 130+ locations nationally.

IA partnered with Williams-Sonoma, Inc. (WSI) as its sole architectural consultant for over a decade, delivering design and rollout services across five brands. Guided by an iterative process, IA continuously refines layouts based on prior experience and site-specific conditions. This approach ensures that each store reflects WSI’s heritage while adapting to the evolving retail landscape. Flexibility was central to the strategy.

IA collaborated closely with WSI merchants to develop perimeter bays, modular shelving systems, and loose fixtures that accommodate seasonal assortments, artisan collaborations, and direct-to-consumer partnerships. These adaptable solutions allow stores to pivot quickly without compromising brand integrity. To bring the catalog experience to life, IA designed immersive vignettes and merchandise displays that inspire customers and reinforce WSI’s premium positioning. Many locations feature intuitive design labs, spaces that foster creativity for employees and provide personalized, comfortable experiences for customers. Over 130 projects have been completed, each blending creativity with operational efficiency.
