At the annual IIDA South Florida Chapter BRAGG awards for design excellence, IA’s Miami team recently won awards for projects in three categories: Cruise Planners – Corporate Medium; Broward Health Coral Springs Hospital – Healthcare; and IA’s Miami Office – People’s Choice Award. With summer in full swing and vacation on our mind, we focus here on Cruise Planners. The project won for aligning client objectives with a dynamic and creative use of space.
Green means go quite literally for Cruise Planners, the nation’s largest home-based travel advisor franchise network. At its new Coral Springs offices, Cruise Planners chose to use the brand’s bright green color to energize and inspire its hard-working, fun-loving staff. This dominant hue is strategically used in prominent areas throughout the design, balanced by textures, patterns, whimsical art, and graphics.
Driven by cruisitude, a positive disposition or feeling about travel, Cruise Planners provides clients with an unforgettable travel experience. Inspired by cruisitude, the design team created a lively, fresh work environment with travel related details and features sure to engage and delight both clients and staff.
For example, in reception an award wall designed with vintage luggage celebrates Cruise Planners people-centric culture and community involvement. Elsewhere, playful, sculptured figurines, commissioned for the project and similar to toy action figures, scale and dive down walls adding to the fun.
Porthole windows look out to an atrium, maximizing daylight. Neon signs and travel-related details, as well as wall graphics speak to the company’s mission.
Moveable partitions, flexible spaces, and a variety of collaboration and private work areas allow the workplace to adapt to constant changes in the travel industry. At the café retractable walls open into the executive board room and the think tank area for all-hands meetings.
We don’t mean to brag about a trifecta of BRAGG awards but we couldn’t resist the pun!
