Marlene Liriano Inducted Into the IIDA College of Fellows

The leadership of IA Interior Architects is proud to announce that Marlene Liriano IIDA, LEED AP ID+C, a Principal and Managing Director of our Miami office, will be inducted in the IIDA College of Fellows, the highest honor offer by IIDA to its members. IIDA’s College of Fellows honors those whose activities and efforts have benefitted and enhanced IIDA, as well as those whose works have influenced the interior design profession. This year’s honorees will be introduced and celebrated at the IIDA Annual Meeting on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.

Marlene is currently serving as the President of IIDA’s Board of Directors for 2016-2017, and has a long history with the organization. As President, she has focused on advocacy, nurturing opportunities for interior design students and young professionals, as well as increasing membership in the Latin American chapters.  Her work in the design profession at large has perpetuated a tradition of insight, and cultivated a spirit of team collaboration, resulting in multiple design awards, publications, and numerous long-term client accounts. Past honors include the Miami Chapter of the American Institute of Architects’ Interior Designer of the Year Award for her excellence in leadership and notable architecture and interior design

Marlene states, “It’s been a privilege to serve as the 2016-2017 IIDA Board of Directors President. IIDA has been an essential part of my career and I can’t speak highly enough about their impact on the profession. It is an honor to be inducted into the College of Fellows and I look forward to continuing my work with the association.”

David Mourning, IA’s founder and a member of the College of Fellows, said, “Marlene represents the best and the brightest at IA and in our profession: building a very successful practice in Miami and at the same time giving back to her community and our profession thru the IIDA.”

Marlene’s design expertise, leadership at top global firms, and contributions to IIDA and the profession have all illustrated the depth of her dedication to elevating the Interior Design industry,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP. “We are so pleased to announce her induction into the IIDA College of Fellows and look forward to celebrating this accomplishment at the IIDA Annual Meeting in June.”
