Nancy Heywood Promoted to Co-Managing Director of IA’s Seattle Studio

IA Interior Architects is pleased to announce the promotion of Nancy Heywood to Co-Managing Director of the firm’s Seattle studio. Nancy will assume the role from Lynn Vandeberg, as she retires after a decade at IA and 38 years in the industry. The firm is grateful for her leadership and dedication to the practice.

For almost 20 years, Nancy has been an integral leader at IA, serving as Principal and Project Director. As Co-Managing Director, Nancy will continue to oversee design initiatives, nourish client relationships, and implement new practices for Seattle.

During her tenure at IA, Nancy’s commitment to client service excellence, mentorship and strong, senior-level leadership have been invaluable. She has worked with an impressive range of clients, including GitHub, Slalom, Dropbox, Uber, Qualtrics, and Whole Foods, among others.

“I’m thrilled to join my long-time colleague, David Kutsunai, as Co-Managing Director of IA’s Seattle studio. As we continue to evolve and work closely with our dynamic clients, I am proud to be a part of creating the future alongside our accomplished team of talented design and architecture professionals,” says Nancy Heywood.

“This is a natural progression of role based on Nancy’s time and achievements over the years at our firm, following a dedicated tenure from Lynn. We look forward to the remarkable innovative approach and client satisfaction that is sure to continue under Nancy’s leadership in Seattle,” says Tom Powers and David Bourke, Co-President/CEOs.
