Summary

An orthopedic practice specializing in pediatrics, Central Texas Pediatric Orthopedics tasked IA to design their new Austin clinic. Envisioning a clean, functioning, and calming space that caters to both patients and staff, the IA design team worked closely with CPTO to create a a hospitable and friendly environment.

As a pediatrics clinic, CPTO hoped to create a space exciting and welcoming for all children; however, they wondered if it was possible to do so without appearing too youthful. They hoped the space would be appealing to parents and older patients as well, and IA found the perfect balance. The new office is professional yet comfortable, and reflects CTPO’s culture of compassion, warmth, and top of the line care. Although we avoided an abundance of bright colors so not to appear too “pediatric,” the environment boasts subtle pops of color – the space is very inviting, not sterile or cold.

By creating specialty spaces including 8 patient evaluation rooms, a physical therapy room, and an X-Ray room, IA ensured that the CPTO employees will be able to complete their daily tasks with ease. By having spaces separate from patient-facing areas, the employees can now meet or reset as needed throughout the day. The new clinic is a space where each patient and parent can feel safe and at ease, a space where employees are proud to work each day.
